adoption photographer/florida adoption photography/indio’s adoption story

I will never forget the day I received the email from Abi.

"Baby boy #3 is due February 12 in Tallahassee Florida and I am wanting someone to take photos of us and the boys meeting him for the first time and all the emotions with going from a family of 4 to 5 in an instant."

I sat on my couch and cried like a baby. I have wanted to adopt a child for as long as I can remember and now I was going to get to see one take place, and not only that, I was going to be photographing it.

The birth mother only wanted to meet Abi, so I hung out with the boys until it was time for us to go up to the room. We sat in the car and watched movies and ate cereal. It was so neat to be able to spend some time with Finn and Stone before they got to meet their new brother, Indio. They were so excited and Finn kept asking when he was going to get to meet his new brother. When Ryan got the call from Abi, we headed upstairs to the hospital room. I don't really know how to explain what happened next. It is one of those situations that you have to witness for yourself. The best way I can think of to describe it is a feeling of warmth that goes from your head down to your toes. It is a moment that I will never forget.

A couple of days after meeting Indio for the first time, the family had me over to take some family photos. I truly believe that Indio was destined to be a part of this amazing family. Thank you so much Ryan, Abi, Finn, Stone, and Indio for letting me be a fly on the wall for one of the most important days of my career. You have touched me and changed me in ways you will never know.
